Treating Breast Cancer“This new drug is different than chemotherapy.  It goes after certain types of cancer cells in the body and tricks the cancer into killing itself.

The news of this drug almost brought one local cancer survivor to tears.

“When I first read it I almost started crying because this is something that is on the iceberg of finding the solution. It’s one thing and we are right here if we can start finding the cures than the rest will come behind them,” Ronna Nichter said.

Nichter was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. She went through chemo with a positive attitude and plenty of pink wigs to liven up the mood.

She said the thought of other patients not having to go through chemo and being treated by a drug that’s more effective means everything to her.”
